King Air 200 and C-90A’s

Beechcraft King air family of aircraft reigns as the most popular turbo-prop aircraft ever produced.  Originally introduced in the late 60′s and 70′s, the C-90 and 200 model King Airs continue in production today.Both of these aircraft types are price competitive with the scheduled airlines for trips within a 500-700 mile radius of central Illinois and can operated into airports with shorter runways than required by jets.

Hangar Space

With over 91,000 square feet of available heated hangar space, we can usually accommodate the smallest of aircraft to the largest of business jets for your overnight stays.

Towing

You can feel confident Flightstar has the proper equipment and highly trained staff to tow your aircraft. We have the capabilities to move the smallest of aircraft up to the largest of narrow body airliners.

 

Part 121 Handling

Chartering a large group of 30 to 600 people? Flightstar has the experience and expertise to handle your large groups efficiently and get them on their way. We have been ground handling sports teams, orchestras, and vacation travel groups for over 25 years.

Deicing

Our line services department utilizes many different deice professional training program. We use environmentally friendly propylene glycol mixed to minus 30 degrees. You can rest assured that during icing conditions, we will get you off the ground safely.

 

Handling

Whether it is one box at 20 pounds or 200 pieces of 20,000 pounds, the Flightstar ground handling team can meet your need. With the experienced line personnel and proper equipment, Flightstar can handle any of your cargo handling needs.

 

Training

Each Flightstar staff member undergoes many hours of current and recurrent classroom and hands-on training prior to servicing aircraft without supervision. They pride themselve on being the best trained and most versatile line personnel in the industry.

 

Special Events

Over the years, Flightstar has had the privilege of hosting and staffing many special events held at Willard Airport CMI.  Such events include the original Farm Aid concert, the University of Illinois Men’s Baskeball Team going to the final four, ground handling the Chicago Bears during their stay here while Soldier Field was being renovated, handling a Monday Night NFL Football crowd,  U of I football bowl trips, and Presidential visits.

Flightstar Line Services partners with several rental car companies and limousine services to provide you with the ground transportation you may require during your stay in CMI.

Airline Maintenance

The Flightstar Airline Maintenance Division has been performing line and overnight maintenance for the air carriers serving Champaign (CMI) for well over 20 years. This maintenance division currently operates on a 24 hour per day, 365 day a year basis.

Some of their duties include:

  • Engine changes
  • Wing engine maintenance and S.B. compliance
  • T.R. Repairs
  • Fuel system related troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Windshield replacements
  • General overnight maintenance and MEL clearing
  • Periodic service checks
  • Time item maintenance checks
  • Component replacement and system troubleshooting
  • Deep cleaning services on Embraer EMB 135/140/145 aircraft

Flightstar’s airline maintenance division has its own separate and dedicated 33,000 sq/ft. facilities for its operations.

Flightstar’s airline detailing staff keeps the aircraft interiors looking clean and bright.  From quick wipe downs, polishes, and vacuuming to full blown deep cleaning that includes cockpits, carpet, seat cover change outs, and lavatory soaks. They do it all!

Flight Crews

Flightstar hires, manages, and trains the flight crews for your aircraft.  The average Flightstar flight crewmember spends over 28 days per year in recurrent training on normal and emergency aircraft procedures, systems operation, aircraft performance, fatigue management, cockpit resource management, in flight medical procedures, RVSM requalification, international procedures, company procedures, safety of flight issues and client preferences.

Scheduling and Conceirge Services

From the moment you call, Flightstar’s flight coordination staff diligently works to make your travel arrangements truly effortless and enjoyable.  From aircraft and crew scheduling, customs arrangements, FBO selections, contract fuel arrangements, hotel and ground transportation reservations, special client requests, and in-progress trip flight following and monitoring to accounting for fuel burns, flight times, trip costs and expenses, duty time limitations, and client reports, they do it all.

Management

It may appear that client service is number one, but it’s really second to issues of safety.  All of the aspects of aircraft ownership are mananged by Flightstar on your behalf.  Cost monitoring, crew employment issues, upgrade recommendations, ensuring regulatory compliance and revenue production are just a few.

Aircraft Maintenance

Although your primary face to face contacts will be with the flight coordination and flight crew personnel, our maintenance staff works behind the scenes to ensure high dispatch reliability rates.  This includes status breifings at the conclusion of each flight, discrepancy resolution and repair, weekly maintenance inspections, and factory recommended maintenance servicing.  Flightstar has over 40 maintenance technicians experienced on Falcons, King Airs, Learjets, Challengers and the Global Express.

Aircraft Cosmetics

All of the managed aircraft receive daily and periodic cleaning and detailing to keep them looking new.

Hangar

Flightstar has six heated hangars for protection from the elements.

Discount Fuel Programs

As a Flightstar managed aircraft, you receive discount pricing on fuel purchased in Champaign.  You are also enrolled in Flightstar contract fuel programs for fuel while away from Champaign.

Fleet Insurance Rates

Flightstar managed aircraft are covered under the fleet policy at fleet rates.  USAIG, the underwriter, has insured Flightstar for over 25 consecutive years and is known as the best aviation underwriter in the industry.

Back-up Aircraft

Other Flightstar managed aircraft are available as back up should your aircraft be down for whatever reason

Charter Revenues

Flightstar managed aircraft owners have the option to have their aircraft put on Flightstar’s air carrier certificate to enable charter flights and revenue on the aircraft when not being utilized by the owner.
